Canceled domain – How long until it's released

    I cancelled my domain name hornetfire.com (1 day ago) and wish to get it through GoDaddy. It’s currently not available and GoDaddy have ask me to request the release period (They have 5 days).

    What is wordpress.com domain release period?

    Hi there,

    Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and the release period is determined by our registrar.

    As you cancelled the domain on the same day that you registered it, it should become available in about 5 days, but we can’t guarantee it as the final decision is at our registrar’s discretion. We have no way to bypass this waiting period.
