Canceled domain names and linkages

  Okay, here’s the set up:

  1) I have a website at Weebly.
  2) I create a domain name here at WP.
  3) I link that Weebly website over here at the new WP domain.
  4) I have made an error in the WP domain name and need to cancel it. WP says it will take up to 7 days to refund me. No problem.
  5) I try to create a NEW and CORRECT WP domain name, and then link the Weebly website over to it, BUT…WP tells me that Weebly domain is ALREADY mapped to a WP account (the one I canceled). Problem.
  So…will this condition be freed up once the refund goes through, or have I grievously erred?

  Hi stoklos,

  I’ve tagged this topic for a Staff follow-up. They’ll be able to delete the DNS entry for you if that’s what’s causing the problem.

  Hello! Is the domain you’re trying to use mindfulreading.com? Are you trying to purchase this domain and map it to your Weebly site? Or do you already own this domain and are trying to map it to your WordPress.com site?

  Hi Shawna,

  The domain I’m trying to map is http://www.mindfulreading.com/

  I own the domain over at Weebly, yes, and I’m trying to map it to a WP site where it will be called the same, mindfulreading.com.

  My problem is that I erred in the setting up of the WP site by inadvertently calling it mindfulreadingdotcom.com; but all I want–and I want a Premium package for it–is mindfulreading.com.

  What’s the quickest, easiest way to fix all of this?

  I certainly appreciate the help!

  Well, I think I’ve got the domain correctly mapped, but now I’ve got two different looks. If I go to a computer and type in my website, I get the old version of the website, but when I try to modify it in WP, I get a screen that says that nothing’s yet been posted.

  I’ve upgraded to Premium, but I’m unable to change the look of the website.

  CONFUSED!!
