Canceled domain wants to transfer

    Good afternoon,

    I canceled my domain and want to transfer it to another site. How long does it take for the system to update so I can purchase the domain for my other site?

    Hi there,

    If you cancel a domain you are no longer its owner, and you won’t be able to transfer a domain. You need to own a domain to be able to transfer it.

    Cancelled domains are not released immediately, but go through a process of several weeks before they are released so you can use them somewhere else. At that point anyone will be able to buy the domain, so you also run the risk of losing it.

    At this point we should be able to still get the domain back for you, but you will also have to renew it before you can transfer it, as it expired in December already and was about to go into redemption when you cancelled it.

    Let me know if I must try to get the domain back for you, then I can send you a link to pay for the renewal so I can retrieve it.
