Canceled purchased domain, back to free wordpress blog, but it will not display

  I canceled my purchased domain from wordpress (thetoughlovelifestyle.com) and then changed my site name to sarahlewisrd.wordpress.com from the automatically generated thetoughlovelifestyle.wordpress.com that results from the purchased domain canceling.

  I confirmed through the email link sent that I wanted to cancel the domain.

  Now when I try to view my blog by typing in the new name (http://sarahlewisrd.wordpress.com) I get a popup screen telling me that my domain expired and asking me to renew it or cancel it.

  I have clicked cancel and filled out the cancel form AT LEAST 8 times now.

  None of the links generated display the new site name, therefore none of the posts can be viewed by posting a hyperlink to them anywhere…nor can I even view my blog from my admin panel or a preview screen.

  I’m trying to remain optimistic that maybe there is just a delay in how long it takes for the change to reflect, but it has been hours now and I have never experienced a blog name change taking this long before.

  Any suggestions or could there be an actual glitch somewhere?

  Well the good news is that when I visit sarahlewisrd.wordpress.com the site comes up directly without any expired domain overlay.

  If you are still seeing the overlay, please try logging out and deleting your browser cache and cookies (which will also log you out of every site you are currently logged in on) and then log back in and see.

  It looks like it was a matter of just waiting for the new name to take affect in the meantime it was simply not redirecting. It looks like it may be working fine now.
