Canceled/refunded domain, but would like back
-
Hi,
I canceled the above domain name an hour or so ago due to some misunderstandings on my part, but would like to get it back if possible. It won’t show up for a re-purchase, and entering the url shows it as parked, so I’m hoping it could be possible to re-acquire. Of course I’d have to pay again since I was refunded, but that’s fine.WP.com: Yes
Correct account: UnknownThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

Hi @casper828,
As you had cancelled the domain for a refund, I have sent you a manual payment to your WordPress.com account email for domain registration. Once completed, please let me know here and I’ll work towards restoring the
uapsciences.comdomain to your account.I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi,
Thanks very much for that- just went ahead and paid. Please proceed with the restore!
thanks,

Hi there :)
Thanks for submitting payment for the domain registration. The domain is now restored to your account and site at WordPress.com,
Have a good day!

Hi,
So, it seemed to work for awhile, but now the site doesn’t show up again, and it says my purchases have been disabled. I checked my bank and the transaction definitely went through, so not sure what the issue is?

You’ll need a plan upgrade to set a primary domain.
Our Billing Support team handles inquiries about this. You can reach out to them for assistance with this using the link in your dashboard that says: “Purchases are currently disabled. Please contact us to re-enable purchases.” You can also send an email directly to billingsupport@wordpress.com, if you prefer that.

It does have the domain name with a com after it though, but that’s not what I purchased. Which leads me to another question (I am new to this site completely). It seems like for each domain I try to buy/use it creates domain.com but then also domaincom.com under “My Sites” – is that how it’s supposed to be?
At least before I had both; now I only have the copy with the extra com in there, which I wouldn’t want. Thanks for you help.

Depending on the free
.wordpress.comsite address that you choose, it may includecomor a series of random numbers. You can choose change your site address or register a custom domain. As mentioned above, to use the custom domain, you’ll need a plan upgrade. Hope that helps. -
Okay- thank you. I tried to change it to the domain.wordpress.com (which I had this morning), but it says it’s not available. Did that perhaps become “parked” as well after I requested the refund? If so, can I please get it back?

When a free site address is used, even if the site has been deleted, it’s not possible to reuse it again. I’m afraid that you’ll need to consider something similar but different.
