Canceling domain name

  Can i get my domain name back if I cancel my account within 24 hours?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  I just bought it yesterday night and would like to cancel this so I can register it elsewhere. I know I am allowed to cancel within 24 hours, but does this mean the domain registrar will release back my domain name?

  typically how long can it take for my domain name to be released? Note- this is a new name, not a renewal process

  Hi there,

  If you cancel your domain name from WordPress.com, there is no guarantee that it will be released again for purchase. Someone else may also buy it in the interim, which would make the domain name unavailable. Unfortunately, I also don’t have an expected time frame of when the domain would become available again.

  The best bet would be to point the domain to your new service by changing the name servers as explained here:

  After 60 days, you can transfer the domain to another registrar as explained here:

  Transfer a Domain to Another Registrar

  Also for future reference, we respond to forum threads in the order that they were received. However, when you continue to post to your forum thread, it continually bumps to the bottom of the list, which delays your response time. In the future, please refrain from continually posting to the same thread for the best results!
