Canceling Domain & WordPress Site

I’m attempting to cancel my site at aladywrites4u.com. I have completed all the steps but it isn’t working. I need to cancel the domain and site for aladywrites4u.com I do not want a refund. Every change I try to make to domain contact info only reverts back in a few minutes. My email is asarielsmuse.yahoo.com. If I can get this site canceled properly I will open a new one.

Deleting a site and canceling a domain are actually two separate things. You would want to cancel the domain first, and then delete the site.

You mention that you’ve “completed all the steps but it isn’t working”, can you clarify what you’ve done, at which step the process “doesn’t work”, and what error or confirmation messages you are getting?

@squidpeg there is no delete option for the domain in the place that the instructions say it should be so the domain can’t be deleted using the steps provided in the link. I tried it more than once and more than one way.
Even attempting to change something as simple as the email address on the domain won’t work. After seemingly completing a change of email on the domain I get the message saying that it worked and that I can’t transfer the domain for two months, but then when I sign in again the erroneous email address is back again.
Of course site deletion won’t work unless the domain deletion is complete either.
Thanks for trying but I think this one is beyond the normal instruction books.

Just to clarify, if you want to cancel your domain aladywrites4u.com it can take up to several weeks for our domain registrar to release the domain, and it may not choose to do so. We can’t guarantee that your domain will ever be available to you again once canceled. If you have any intention of using aladywrites4u.com again in the future, I suggest that you do not choose to cancel.
Please confirm that you understand and want to cancel your domain. Once you have done so, I will cancel it and remove the upgrade from your account.
Please let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.

Thanks again for your help. I think most of the issues I have had were caused by having multiple WordPress sites and domains. Once this is all cleared out I’ll clear my cache and start over. -

Hey! I tried following those links, but the website won’t let me cancel my wordpress site. I want to transfer my domain to another provider and delete everything having to do with wordpress. How can I do that? The documentation is VERY circular.

You can transfer your domain away using these instructions:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/transfer-domain-registration/
or you can simply point it to your new webhost using these instructions:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/change-name-servers/
If you want to delete your WordPress.com site, you will need to transfer it away. If you change nameservers, nobody will see your WordPress.com site ever, but you won’t be able to delete it totally because it is necessary for DNS management of your registered domain.

staff-ozmodiar, sorry to bother you again but I still don’t have an option to delete the domain aladywrites4u.com and as long as it’s there I can’t delete the wordpress account aladywrites4u.com. I’m not sure if it’s you or if it’s me but I’ve been round and round the instructions from all angles and I can’t get anything to happen. Can you help me out?
