  i want to delete my domain address so I can get another host.

  Hi there,

  From what I can see you have cancelled all upgrades under your account, which has resulted in a refund here: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/billing/

  Do you wish to recover your domain so you can use it with a site on another host? Your domain has been returned to the registry to prep it for resale but it does not become available to purchase again for several months.

  However we can recover your domain here on WordPress.com, and you can then go on to use it as the address of your site on another host.

  Let us know how you would like to proceed or if you have any questions.

  Hi Jerry, could you tell me if I had purchased the hosting service for one year or a month? I thought it was $30 per month and thought it was a bit high.
  So I cancelled then tried to get a cheaper host but couldn’t point the dns to them…. I really couldn’t figure it out.

  Hosting is free on WordPress.com. You only pay for extra features.

  What you bought was a Personal Plan for $48 for a full year, and that plan included a credit to let you register one domain for free.

  You cancelled that purchase within the refund period for the plan, but after the refund period for the domain, so we’ve only issued a partial refund of $30 for the non-domain portion of your plan. The $18 for the domain can no longer be refunded at this point.

  As the domain hasn’t been refunded, we can still restore it for you at no additional cost. Then you can point it to another hosting provider, if you prefer, and transfer it away from us once you’ve owned it for at least 60 days.

  If you want to use that domain here, you will need to buy the Personal Plan again as well – a paid plan is needed to use your own domain on WordPress.com.
