Canceling or deleting accounts
-
From what I’ve read there is really no way to delete your account would be an accurate statement? Personally, I’ve two accounts basically signed up for a couple of weeks apart (it’s a long story). At this point they have sat stagnate and are not being used because I didn’t do my homework before jumping in. However, I would like to delete them and sign up with a hosting account (SiteGround). To be able to develop websites, one for myself, and others for clients, Is this possible? If so that would be awesome, basically what I need is the capability to build a website from scratch and then deployed it, at which time I could turn over the keys to the new website owners or be the Admin for them if the client preferred not having the responsibility or had the capability to do so.
Thank you, for any help or suggestion you may have to offer!

Hi,
It is possible to entirely delete your account. Before deleting your account, you’ll have to cancel your subscription. Click on the upper left corner where it says “My Site”, then go to the “Manage Purchases” tab. From there, click on your paid account, and scroll to the bottom and select “Cancel Subscription”, then on the next page confirm this by clicking “Cancel Subscription” again.
After completing that step, select the “Account Settings” tab from the options on the left. Then scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Close your account permanently”.
These are the steps for deleting a site that is hosted through WordPress.com. If your pages are set up using a self-hosted site, then it will be a little different and you may need to contact the WordPress.org support forum (https://wordpress.org/support/).
Does that help? -
Thank you so much for your response, I will certainly give that a try.
Once again thanks!
