Canceling the premium free trial

    Much like many other users:

    I tried to cancel my free trial but am not receiving the cancellation confirmation email from wordpress (although I receive all other communications from your site). Please cancel my free trial for me. Thank you.

    I do not want a premium subscription – I do not wish to be billed.

    WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers.

    The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours. https://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#canceling-upgrades

    Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.

    Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrade, and you are within the allowed time frame for refunds, you can cancel and request a refund from your dashboard > Store > My Upgrades.     Hi there,

    I can cancel that free trial for you. Do you also want to cancel the domain thejackson4.com that you registered with the trial?

    Please keep in mind that canceling a domain means you give up ownership of that domain name. The domain name may not be released immediately, and there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to register it again in the future.

    If you’d like to keep the domain and use it somewhere else, you can Move Your Domain to Another Host instead. In that case, I can send you a payment form to keep just the domain and cancel the rest.

    If you’d like to cancel everything, including the domain, let me know and I’ll take care of that for you.

    Thanks for the reply!

    I’d like to cancel everything, including the domain, I’ve actually registered it with another host, but I cannot transfer it for 60 days after the initial registration. So if you’re able to cancel both then i’d probably be able to transfer it (maybe?)

    If I cancel the domain now, you won’t be able to register/transfer it right away. You’ll have to wait until the domain is available to register again, which can sometimes happen within a week but in some cases takes longer (and isn’t guaranteed).

    If you want to keep using the domain with your other host, you can pay for just the domain and change the domain’s name servers to point to your new host. That way you can use the domain with that host even before you transfer the domain’s registration there.

    I’ll send you an email with more details about that domain and how you can make a payment if you want to keep it. If you’re sure you want to cancel the domain here at WordPress.com (and take the chance that you won’t be able to register it again with the new host) let me know and I’ll do that — it’s just really not recommended if you want to keep using it.
