Canceling wordpress.com domain for .org

  I’d like to register goodnewsu.org, rather than goodnewsu.wordpress.com. How do I go about cancelling the latter, and initiating the former?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hey there –

  Registering a .org domain through WordPress.com and mapping that domain to your blog starts at $18.00 per domain and per year. Or you can register the domain name elsewhere and then map it to your WordPress.com blog.

  I would advise against deleting your current goodnewsu.wordpress.com address. Once deleted, you can no longer use the domain name again. Rather, I would register your new domain and your WordPress.com address can be redirected to the new domain: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/register-domain/
