  Hello,

  I have spent the last few days trying to figure out how to upload the Rayleigh theme I purchased from Theme Forest on to my wordpress account, with no luck. At the same time, I have searched your site to try to find another theme to design my website for my Architecture and Design studio, also with no luck.

  Designing a website is brand-new to me. I live in NY where everyone is talking about SquareSpace but I went with WordPress because of its open source component. I am not sure exactly what that means in tech terms but I like the idea of anything that incorporates community participation. I understand that WordPress does that and Square Space does not.

  HOWEVER, now I am utterly confused. I bought the premium version to try out it out and would now like to cancel that. Please advise me about how I can do this or otherwise, how I can get some real life help walking through these first steps.

  Hi Colleen,

  Thank you for reaching out. Theme Forest sells themes that can be installed on the self- or third-party hosted version of WordPress (WordPress.org), but these themes do not work on WordPress.com. You can read more about this here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/

  I see that you’ve selected the Goran theme for your blog — if you have questions about WordPress.com themes, or would like assistance moving your blog to a host that uses WordPress.org, just let me know.

  In the meantime, I’m sorry for any confusion this might have caused, and have refunded your account the $99.
