You can cancel your site by looking at the FAQ: Renewing and cancelling section of the support pages.
To quote:
How can I cancel my domain name?
To cancel a domain you registered with WordPress.com, please log into your account and go to the Manage Purchases section of your Personal Settings. Click on the domain and then the button to Cancel.
If it’s been more than 2 days since the purchase date, you will not receive a refund but the domain can still be canceled by contacting support.
How can I cancel my plan?
You can cancel your plan via Purchases. Click the button to Cancel below the plan details. Follow the prompts to cancel your plan, and be sure to check your email for a link to confirm your cancellation.Let me know if you need anything else! Have a great day!

Hello eallas,
The only thing that I see on my “Manage Purchase” page is one button and its say “Upgrade Now”. which I don’t want to do.
I don’t see any “Cancel” button, so…..

Hey again!
The domain “danstewartmediayay.wordpress.com” is a free domain provided by WordPress.com. There’s no way of cancelling it and you won’t be charged for owning it either. You’re only charged when using a Personal, Premium, or Business Plan.
If you’re looking to delete or make your site private, I can assist with this.
-
I see. I am aware I on a Premium Plan and will be charged $100 for renewing that plan. I would like to cancel that particular renewal.

Your website is hosted on 1&1, not WordPress.com. Did you get an email saying your plan at WordPress.com would be renewed? danstewartmedia.com is utilizing a WordPress.org software plugin which is external to WordPress.com and shouldn’t be charged any fees.
-
Okay. All I know is I got the email from WordPress.com and it refers to the Premium plan I have as a “WordPress Plan”. It doesn’t say anything about 1&1 or WordPress.org. I would show you a screenshot of the email but there is no way to upload images to this messaging. I am not sure what to do, but I know WordPress.com wants to charge me for the renewal, as it says in the email.
So…?
-
If it didn’t show up in your https://wordpress.com/me/purchases, all I can do from here is tag it for staff’s attention. I tagged them and hopefully they can see what’s going on.
Until then, if it’s not showing up in the purchase (where it should be), I would suggest seeing if there’s a link to follow in the email in the off-chance it’s another user account you may have created at another time. If not, staff is on their way.
-
Alright. I hope they contact me before the 23rd. I don’t want to pay that fee. Thanks for your help.

Hi there,
That site and the upgrades on it belong to a different username, bglfilm
You will need to log in as that username before you’ll be able to cancel the upgrades, or you need to post here as that username if you need our help with doing it.

Thanks for logging in with the correct account. I just want to confirm, this was for your Premium Plan, correct? I see the plan is still on your site, but automatic renewal has been disabled, so the plan will expire and be removed on 22 January.
Then you also still have a domain mapping upgrade on a different site for the domain, danstewartmedia.com which expired in October next year.
Please let me know if you need any more help with this.
