  Hi I’ve never used my account and would like to cancel/close it before I get charged for another year… how do I go about this please?

  Just go to https://wordpress.com/me/purchases where you can manage the purchase made by the account you are logged in to.

  Hello,

  As you do not want to get charged then you will have to delete upgrades from your site and then you can close your account.

  To cancel your upgrades, go to your account -> Manage Purchases -> Manage upgrades -> cancel your upgrades.

  You can close your WordPress.com account by following the steps mentioned here: https://wordpress.com/support/close-account/

  Please note closing your account deletes all of the sites you own and all their contents. After a few weeks, the data will be entirely purged from our system and at this point, the process cannot be reversed.

  Of what upgrade, and on which site, are you speaking?

  The WordPress.com account you’re using to post here is less than 24 hours old and doesn’t own any sites or upgrades with us.

  You need to be logged into the account that owns an upgrade to make changes to it, or to request help from staff.
