I was charged $99 for a blog that I can not access to cancel. This blog has not been in use for a year and we have no way to cancel it. I want a refund and to cancel whatever site this $99 is attached to. Furthermore, I did not receive any notifications prior to renewal.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello there,

Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.

You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard, cancel any upgrades, claim a refund for any qualified upgrades, and disable auto-renew.

If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into another account

If the login information has been lost go to
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/#lost-password

Your last resort for obtaining access is to complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery with as much information as possible and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums which are available to everyone with internet access.

    Recover Your Account

You can manage all of your WordPress.com purchases by navigating to the Me section of WordPress.com and then choosing the option to Manage Purchases from the sidebar.

Select any purchase in order to view options for managing it. The options available will be different based on the upgrade you choose.

    Canceling and Refunding Purchases
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/manage-purchases/#canceling-and-refunding-purchases

    Refunds https://en.support.wordpress.com/refunds/ are time limited.
WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours. It takes from 1 – 2 weeks or 7 – 10 business days for the refund to be received.

If you do not succeed then type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up. Thank you for this, however, this is not a blog under my name but this $99 came out of my account. I need this to be refunded. I am not getting any service out of this and now its set up that I can not cancel the service. We don’t have the username, password, email or log in info that was used to set this up. I am not okay with my card being charged $99 this year or any subsequent year because i am unable to cancel.

I have tagged this thread for a Staff follow-up.

    Hey there,

So, you did not receive a receipt for the charge either? The receipt contains a transaction ID that we use to prove ownership of the upgrade. Also, you have no idea what site this upgrade is connected with?

If not, you might want to look back in your records to see if you still have the transaction confirmation from the last time the upgrade was renewed at WordPress.com.

All our payments are processed by PayPal (even if you paid directly with a credit card).

PayPal can provide you with this transaction ID, which we can then verify on our end. It’s a 17-digit number. You can reach them at:

    1-888-221-1161
1-402-935-2050 (if calling from outside the U.S.)

You can find additional ways to contact PayPal here:

    https://www.paypal.com/us/contactus

When contacting PayPal, please have the following details of the transaction ready:

    – Name on card
    – Amount and date of transaction
    – Card number

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

No, I don’t have a receipt. I have checked all through my emails. I do not know the url of the site. I do not know what site this payment is for. My bank shows a transaction id. S467085341896779 CARD 1193

    Hey there,

That is not the PayPal transaction ID – I would contact PayPal via phone to get the transaction ID – you should be able to retrieve it from them by simply provided your credit card information.

    Thanks,

    Found it! Thank you!

I have canceled your subscription for WordPress.com Premium and refunded the charges back to you. It can take between 7-10 business days for the refund to reflect on your bank statement.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Take care,
