Cancellation and refund
-
Hi – I have a WordPress domain that I no longer use, and had almost forgotten all about it to be honest. But the recent charge to my bank account, I assume for another 12 months’ plan, has reminded me! I no longer use the email address to which the domain is registered either, so I haven’t received any notifications about this. Is it possible to cancel this domain and obtain a refund, as I have no use for it. Please advise, appreciate the help.

Hi mattduxbury84,
Is it possible to cancel this domain and obtain a refund, as I have no use for it.
The account you are contacting us from hasn’t purchased any custom domains on WordPress.com, which suggests this was done through another account.
Which domain would you like a refund for? Please don’t share any transaction IDs here, a site address is the only information I need for now.
Thanks!

Hi there
Thank you for getting back to me.
The site address is https://itwasmad.wordpress.com.
Thanks!

You will need to sign in to the mattdx84 account in order to get help with that site.
I can see that a personal plan was purchased for $48.00 on December 31st, 2018. We can refund that for you. Just need to hear from you under the correct account.

OK, thanks a lot!
Can you help me reset the password for the site – as I said, I no longer use the email address it was created under, so I can’t do it that way.

Sure thing, can you find the transaction ID from that bill, and use it on the form here? You’ll need to log out of this account first.

Hi guys, thanks for your help with this.
I finally managed to remember the password and log in, so I’ve cancelled and requested a refund through the account now. How long does the refund take to come through?
Thanks!

Hi mattdx84,
Good to hear! Refunds usually take 5-10 business days to show on statements, so you can expect the money to arrive around then.
