Cancellation Policy for Free Domain Year

    Hello :) Silly question but… What happens if I purchase an annual plan and cancel it before my free year is up? Will I be charged for anything?

    You are charged immediately for an upgraded plan. It is the domain that is included free for the first year with the paid plan. If you cancel the plan the domain will go away too. Refunds are only available within 7/14 days of purchase depending.

    Hi there,

    As indicated above, all WordPress.com plans are charged for a full year in advance. You don’t receive a free year on any of our paid plans, but you do get a free domain for the first year, included in the paid plan. From the second year, the domain will cost extra on top of the renewal cost of the plan.

    If you cancel the plan the domain will go away too.

    Just a correction: you can cancel the plan without cancelling the domain, but the domain will no longer appear in the browser address bar when someone visits your site. Instead, the domain will just redirect to the free WordPress.com address.
