Cancelled 14 day trial and cannot use domain
-
I tried the upgrade and cancelled it before the date and wasn’t charged. I never paid for my domain or anything through WordPress. I now want to purchase my domain name (allienimmons.com) and host my site elsewhere, but whenever I go to godaddy to buy the domain, it says it’s taken. I type allienimmons.com into the browser and it sends me to a wordpress page trying to get me to set up allienimmons.wordpress.com which is not what I want. How can I fix this?

Hi there,
When you cancel a domain name, that domain name isn’t released immediately by the domain registrar. Instead, it goes through a cancellation process and can take some time before it is available again. (And there’s no guarantee a domain will become available after it’s cancelled.)
To register the domain directly with GoDaddy, you’ll need to wait until it’s fully released by our domain registrar and made available for you to register there. Another option, if you’d like to try to get the domain back right away, is to recover it here at WordPress.com.
If you want to try the second option, I can send you a payment form to pay for that domain registration and contact our domain registrar to get it back for you. Then, you can point the domain to GoDaddy to use it with your site there. Just let me know if you’d like to try that!

Sure thing! I’m sending you an email with more details about that — you can reply directly to that email with any questions, or let me know here if you don’t get that email from me. :)
