Cancelled Domain

    Hi!
    So I accidentally cancelled my domain two days ago when I refunded my upgraded plan. I’ve heard that it usually takes about five days for it to be available again, but it’s not guaranteed. Is there anyway for me to get the domain back? It’s freshbonesdesign.com.

    Hi there,

    Do you still want the domain for your site here on WordPress.com, or do you plan on using it somewhere else?

    If you want to use it here, I can send you a link to pay for the domain only and then restore it. But keep in mind in that case it will only redirect to your free WordPress.com address. To actually have the domain be what people see when they view your site, you will need a plan.

    If you want to use it somewhere else and willing to wait a few days, the domain should become available again by early next week, at which point you can register it directly at the provider where you want to use it. If you prefer not to wait we can still restore it manually as above as well, and then help you point it to the other provider.

    Let me know what you’d prefer.

    I am wanting to use it somewhere else, so is it possible to transfer the domain? I’m willing to wait for it, I just wanted to make sure it would actually be available.

    Hi @freshbonesdesigns,

    We can restore the domain to your account, however it would be subject to a 60-day transfer lock. You can still point the domain to another host and transfer it after the lock has elapsed. Just let me know which you prefer.
