cancelled domain for one blog, not want to buy it again for another blog…?

    Hey guys,

    OK, so I had two blogs. I wanted a custom domain for one, but I accidentally bought it when I was logged into the other one… AHH! So silly old me thought that if I just cancelled my domain and logged into the other blog that I could buy it under that one and everything would be all hunky dorey… Not true.

    How long do I have to wait for the domain I cancelled to be available again? Will I ever get it back? I had a very competent computer engineer tell me that if I cancelled it in this manner, then the domain should go back on the market within a few days and I should just be able to buy it when logged into my other blog.

    Make sense??

    I really want that domain, but if I have to wait forever I will just have to settle for another one. Any suggestions?

    Hello,

    Staff can check if the cancelled domain is retrievable so I added the modlook tag to call their attention. Please wait for their reply and click Subscribe to Topic on the right side so that you are notified when they reply.

    Normally they can send you a manual payment request to un-cancel the domain. Then, they can make a request to un-cancel the domain. If this is not possible, they can provide you a full refund.
    OR
    You can wait until the domain is available and purchase it through a different registrar. Just note that you should check daily as they wouldn’t know exactly when it would be released and someone may purchase it once it is.

    Hi there!

    I take it the account that you are contacting us from now isn’t the one you used to purchase and cancel the custom domain? To confirm ownership, can you post in this thread from your other account? Then, I can see I can retrieve your deleted domain for you. If it’s been within 5 days or so of the cancellation, there’s a chance I can.
