Cancelled domain, how soon will it be available again?

    Hi 4 days ago, I subscribed to the explorer plan and came with it a free domain for a year. so i grabbed picflair.com.

    After doing some research, I decided to host my site elsewhere, so i canceled the subscription and got fully refunded. The domain is canceled too.

    Now i went to another hosting site and tried to register the same picflair.com domain but it’s not available.

    I read that it will take 60 days for the domain to be released again. that’s a long time. is there any other way to get the domain released sooner?

    Hi there!

    It looks like the domain is already available for registration elsewhere. You should be able to register the domain now with another registrar, as it’s been removed from our end.

    The 60-day lock is placed on active domain registrations if you want to transfer them to another registrar. Since your domain was canceled shortly after registration, it has been removed from our registry.

    I’d love to have your feedback as to what led you to move away from WordPress.com and host your site elsewhere. Did you require specific features that you didn’t find on WordPress.com?
