Cancelled domain name – confused by WordPress .com & .org

I’m new to WordPress, and I am trying to make a website using WordPress so I can try to implement Google Analytics tracking for practice (trying to advance my professions skills). In the process of doing this, I got confused between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. As such, I got a custom domain name from WordPress.com which I paid for. However, a few hours later I realized that I should have used WordPress.org instead; and I canceled the domain name.
Then I went onto Bluehost, but now the domain name is not available, nor do I have access to it.
I still want the domain name (it’s my personal name…..kristimorin.com), is there anything that I can do? How long will it take before the name becomes available again?

Hi.
Once a domain is cancelled it can take up to 80 days for them to become available again. You can check if the domain has become available again daily, and then register it once it has.

I can try and reverse the cancellation. I will let you know if I am successful, it typically takes 12-48 hours.
If successful, you will need to re-purchase the yearly domain registration. Then you will be able to use the domain here on WordPress.com or point your domain to a new webhost using these instructions:
