Cancelled domain release

  Hello, I decided to go with another domain provider and I have already proceeded with cancelling my domain through WordPress.com. I wanted to know how long it takes for the domain to be released so that the domain will be made available again?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hello there,

  There’s no set time as to when that would be released. Even if released, it’s essentially back up for sale to anyone.

  With that in mind, we’d recommend restoring/redeeming any cancelled domains so that it can be used or transferred to another provider.

  If you’d like to restore the domain, are you able to provide the URL of the domain.

  Thanks for getting back to me. I have been informed that domain transfer is only available 60 days after the day of purchase which is a wait time I am not able to do. The information so far I have been able to find in your forums has stated the domain will be released between 5-10 day from cancellation. Is that correct?

  If the information I was given is incorrect and I am able to transfer the domain name immediately after it has been restored then I am happy to do that option.

  However, I wont restore the domain is there is a wait period of 60 days before it can be transferred.

  The domain name is anitadullard.com

  Domain registrations cannot be transferred to another registrar for 60 days from the date of initial registration (or for 60 days from the date of a transfer from one registrar to another).

  However, a domain registered here can be set to point to a new host by changing the nameservers as detailed here:

  https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/change-name-servers/

  You have received a refund for that domain, so to recover it, I’ll need to email you a payment form.

  Please note that if you want to use that domain on a different provider, it’ll be released by the end of this week, and you’ll be able to register it again.

  If you want to restore the domain here on WordPress.com and point it to a different host, let me know, and I’ll email a payment form. Otherwise, just wait until the end of the week when the domain will be released and become available for registration again.
