Cancelled my site but where's my domain name?
-
So I was originally going to host a website “Theundergroundleague.com” through here and I did. I went ahead and upgraded to a .com site after signing up. However I’ve changed my mind so I tried to cancel and I recently removed that domain name trying to cancel it and now I can’t register it anywhere else. I believe it has been within 2 days so shouldn’t I be able to get it back? The domain is no longer there it is only theundergroundleague.wordpress.com, But I can’t register it elsewhere? Can someone please help try to explain this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Once you cancel registration you give up all rights to a domain name, the registrar is under no obligation to release the name, they might hold it for their account, auction it off to the highest bidder, maybe a domain squatter will buy the name and hold it hostage, and if it is released someone else might buy the name.
The name might be released in a week or two.

You be welcome
Sometimes the staff can retrieve a canceled name – but not always – I will flag this for the staff in case you want them to see if they can retrieve the name – then you can change the name servers to point to your new host.
What host are you planning on using?

I do see that the domain was cancelled. It just takes a few days for domains to be released to the public again. Check back in a couple more days and you should be able to register it!

Okay thanks all for the responses. Bluehost or DreamHost most likely, I think I will just try in a few days. Thanks!
