Hello, so I cancelled my subscription and deleted domain from my wordpress account. Thought I will a chance to buy it from other domain seller but as I can see it is still parked in wordpress. Is there a way I could get that domain back or atleast get a chance to buy it from your domain shop?

  • Hi there,

If you don’t mind waiting a few days, your domain should become available again by early next week. Then, you’ll be able to register it directly with the provider where you want to use it. But if you don’t want to wait, I can still restore it manually for you, as mentioned above, and then help you point it to the other provider.

Just let me know what works best for you!

    Hello,

If thats possible restoring would be better. Thanks!

  • You appear to have canceled your domain name, which has resulted in a refund and also means that you no longer own it. However, you do have a few options for getting it back, let us know which you would like to move forward with!

    1. Let us recover the domain – Because you have already been refunded, we can send an invoice for registration fees and restore the domain. You’ll be able to connect it to a new host as soon as it’s restored, then transfer the registration after 60 days.
    2. Stay on WordPress.com – The cost of your domain is included in your plan purchase. To restore your domain just purchase a new plan, and then let us know so we can reattach the domain to your WordPress.com site. Note that you must choose the annual (not monthly) billing option in order for the domain recovery to be free.

Hope that helps! Please let us know how you would like to proceed, thanks!

I would like to proceed with option 1.

  • I’ve emailed you a payment form. Once you have completed the payment, let us know and we’ll restore the domain.

    I completed the payment.

  • Thank you for your payment. I’ve already restored your domain, and you can follow the guide below to point it to another host.

A domain’s name servers store information about your domain (in the form of “DNS records”) and tell your domain where to look for your website’s content. This guide will show you how to change your domain’s name servers to point to WordPress.com or any other host. If you want to transfer the domain to a different registrar, note that you have to wait until July 15th. All newly registered domains have a 60-day transfer lock that’s imposed by ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers), and all registrars have to comply.

Let me know if you have any other questions or need help updating your domain’s DNS records. I’m happy to help.
