Cancelling a registered domain after 60 days of purchase
-
Hello!
My name is Inna Yasinska and my username is innayas on wordpress. I am trying to cancel/delete my blog voteinna.com. However, I am not able to do this because it is a registered domain past 48 hours of purchase. I disabled the auto renew and switched the primary domain to the free voteinna.wordpress.com so that I can delete it. However, it still won’t let me. I would also like to cancel my upgraded theme for this page as well. How can I do this? I really want to delete this blog.I have a second blog, refreshwestern.com which I have also disabled renew domain name, so that it is back to the free refreshwestern.wordpress.com . I do not want to delete this blog, just switch it back to the free maintenance account. Can you help me do this as well? I’m not sure if I took the right steps for this.
Thank you,
Inna YasinskaThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrades, you can disable auto-renew Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades > Disable auto-renew but Staff will have to remove the domain mapping.
See here > Cancel domain http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/cancel-domain/#cancel-domain
I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance with your issue. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

Hello,
Thank you! I have done that. I just want the voteinna.com (which is now voteinna.wordpress.com) deleted completely and to ensure that the refreshwestern.com (now refreshwestern.wordpress.com) is not being charged any longer since I am using the free domain name.
Thank you for your help,

Howdy,
Thanks for getting in touch!
To make sure we’re completely clear on what you want to do with your blogs, can you confirm that the following is correct?
1. Cancel the domain voteinna.com and delete the blog entirely
2. Cancel the domain refreshwestern.com, but leave the blog in placeSince you have two domains, I want to be completely sure before going ahead!
You should be aware that you no longer want to use these domains before we cancel them, as once we do, it can be a difficult and costly process if you change your mind later – if it’s even possible to retrieve them.
You are welcome to keep your domain, but transfer them out to another registrar if you like. You can do that by following the instructions here:
Let me know if you’d rather just cancel, and we can sort this out.
Cheers,

Hello,
Yes that is exactly what I wanted! I am no longer planning on using voteinna.com at all, so that would be great.
I would still like to keep Refresh Western Blog, just remove the paid domain so that it is now going to be “refreshwestern.wordpress.com”
Thank you very much,

Hey,
Okay – no bother. Thanks for confirming that for me!
I’ve gone ahead and cancelled your domain names as requested.
You can now delete your blog at http://voteinna.wordpress.com/ completely by following the steps on the support article below. This also explains how to set your site to Private if you’d rather do that:
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Best,
