  I wasn’t seeking a blog style site and I want to cancel my account. I can’t seem to find a means to do so.

  Hello Liz,
  Yes, I just need space to put up some existing html that I have. I found on my initial contact with WordPress that things seemed rather Byzantine and I got the impression that it was for blogging only. I just need webspace with no fancy features and and the ftp address and I’ll be fine…

  Since WordPress.com is a shared environment there are limits on what HTML tags can be used.

  Take a look here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/ and https://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/

  The self hosted version of WordPress is more hands on. You can use plugins, install themes, etc… Perhaps that would be a better fit for what you’re looking to do.
