Cancelling current host; wish to transfer domain name to wordpress

  Ok I’m in the process of cancelling my current hosting service. However, I have my domain registered through them, I want to keep that name and transfer to wordpress service. Can this be done? If so how. I do not want to lose my current domain.com.

  Hi there, we don’t accept incoming transfers at this moment in time – you’ll need to keep your domain with your current registrar.

  1. Transfer your domain name from your registrar to another one (GoDaddy and Namecheap are good).

  2. Find another hosting company. (Hmm, I thought WP.com offered domain mapping services, but I could be wrong.)

  It’s never a good idea to register/host your domain by the same company.

  You can MAP your domain to your WordPress blog, if that’s what you want. Instructions are in the FAQ under Domain Mapping.
