Cancelling domain

I need to cancel my domain completely. It is set to expire at the end of January, but I can’t seem to cancel it completely. I went to MyUpgrades and cancelled the upgrade, but it says I will still be charged $18 at the end of January. I would like to cancel completely. How do I do this?

  • I can absolutely help you with that.

Just to clarify, if you want to cancel your domain taylorannemortensen.com it can take up to several weeks for our domain registrar to release the domain, and it may not choose to do so. We can’t guarantee that your domain will ever be available to you again once canceled. If you have any intention of using taylorannemortensen.com again in the future, I suggest that you do not choose to cancel.

Please confirm that you understand and want to cancel your domain. Once you have done so, I will cancel it and remove the upgrade from your account.

Please let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.

That would be great if you could cancel my domain

    Thanks!

I’ve cancelled my domain. It said that I had until Jan. 8, 2016 to renew. Now, it says the site is available until Jan. 7, 2017. Does that mean my credit card has been charged? I did not authorize it. I do not want to pay for a year of service that is of no use to me.

  • @taylorannemortensen

I have canceled that domain for you.

  • @glendas3599

It looks like glendasincharleston.com was set up to auto renew and you were charged for another year of registration.

Would you like me to cancel the domain and refund the payment?

  • And to everyone, my apologies for repeating the same information over and over, but we REALLY need to be sure that people understand what they are doing when they ask to cancel a domain. Canceling when you wanted to use the domain again in the future can be a real nightmare.

    Yes, please.
I’m retiring so I don’t need it anymore.
    Thank you!
Will this also delete my account or would I need to do that too?

  • @glendas3599

I have canceled the domain and refunded the payment.

If you would like to delete your WordPress.com site, there are options and instructions for doing so here:

    Delete a Website

Please bear in mind that once deleted, that site’s WordPress.com URL will become permanently unavailable for future use. If you feel that you might need that URL again in the future, you might want to choose one of the other options listed on the the page linked above.

Please let me know if you have further questions or if anything is unclear.
