Cancelling domain

  I have just cancelled my plan, which included a free domain. I already had a domain which I was going to transfer over, but I’m not doing that now. Do I need to cancel my domain with yourselves, I do still want to be able to use it with my domain provider.

  Hi there,

  Yes you will need one of our plans in order to give your site a custom address. For sites on the “free plan” you are required to use the “wordpress.com” domain we assign. Also free sites show ads to help cover our costs.

  You are setting up a personal blog for yourself, yes? I see you recently upgraded to the Personal Plan, which is the best value and will allow you to connect your domain (even if you have it with another company) and will also turn off the ads we show on free sites:

  Once you’ve upgraded you can let us know and we will help with the settings you will need to add to your domain to allow it to connect to our service.
