Cancelling domain is not yet released

    Dear WordPress Support Team,

    I recently cancelled the domain name ‘telekyanmar.com’.

    However, the domain doesn’t seem to have been released yet as it is still showing as taken.

    Would you be able to help or advise us what we can do next as we needed to buy the domain urgently.

    I think it would have been better to transfer the domain if you still wished to own it but use it at some different host. The title of this thread is clear enough but it is tagged for staff assistance.

    As @themagicrobot advised, you should have transferred the domain instead of canceling it.

    Since you canceled it, it entered into redemption with our registrar. It is still possible for me to recover the domain at this point, but our registrar charges an $80 fee to restore it from redemption. Let me know if you agree to that fee, and I can start the recovery process.

    Please note that the redemption period ends in a few days. After that, the domain will be out of our control, and we won’t know when it will be released
