You still need to contact support – best to contact through your dashboard but if there is a problem then: http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
That will preserve your refund window – also the staff does check for things like refund requests – they have a skeleton staff – with 15,000,000 or so blogs and sites for some of the largest companies in the world hosted they simply can’t just close the doors with nobody around – I will also mark this Post as attention staff – but you still need to make the official request for the refund.

@auxclass
That link does not produce a support ticket form and won’t until January 3rd, 2011. this is what I find in support documentation:Refunds
We want you to love everything you do at WordPress.com, so we provide a 30-day refund on all of our upgrades except Domain Registrations and Domain Renewals. You can request the refund yourself directly from your Dashboard. http://en.support.wordpress.com/upgrades/ -
I’m pretty sure as long as they posted here before the short refund time interval was up for domains/domain mapping that staff will honor the refund request since they are not in the office and the normal support communication paths are off right now.
