cancelling domains

    I called one day after I signed up for two new domans ‘wagon wheel life stories’ and ‘write your family history and life story’ (approx) under the name Joysa Winter. I realized I was not yet ready to launch these sites but I couldn’t find a way online to delete them. I left a voice message but did not hear back. I have not figured out a way to do so — a cancelled them — but it says I didn’t do so in the 2-day cancellatino window. BUT I DID. This is very unfair. I am a longtime customer and I do intend to resume those sights once I have completed more of my business plan. But I would LIKE A FULL REFUND and NOT have them remain active for another year b/c I will not use them! Please respond.

    You can retain the domain URL, and get a refund for the remainder of the upgrade, and then move your content into a wordpress.ORG install.

    Know that if you cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it so if you want to keep it and use it on another site please let Staff know that.

    You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard, cancel an upgrades, claim a refund for any qualified upgrades, and disable auto-renew.

    WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours.

    Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.

    Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrade, and you are within the allowed time frame for refunds, you can cancel and request a refund from your dashboard > Store > My Upgrades.     Your account shows that both those domains were registered on 1 December 2015. We received your voice message on 21 December 2015, and someone replied to you via email on 22 December 2015. If you did not receive our reply, please check your email’s spam folder.

    As you only contacted us twenty days after registering those domains, it was not possible to refund them at that time, nor is it now. Besides that, you never replied to our email asking for confirmation and we cannot cancel a domain without that.

    If you want to use those domains at all I would advise against cancelling them. If you cancel a domain, it’s not guaranteed that you’ll be able to register it again later, and you might never be able to get that domain again. But if you still want to cancel them, let me know and I can do that for you.

    I can still refund you for the Google Apps subscription, provided I can process it today, so please also confirm if you want to cancel that.
