Cancelling my order and refunding

    Hi, i’m french and i want to cancel my order made 2 days ago because i want to get the plugins and i can code myself with wordpress.org. It was a mistake about .com & .org

    Do you think they will cancel it and refund me ? It’s been only two days i’ve made the order :(

    It was hard to understand wordpress.com wasn’t an upgrade from the traditional WordPress i use to know in the past…
    Can you help me about this point : Is it way more economic to use wordpress.org and to host into OVH or something ?
    I don’t know if in the end the price will be the same with .org & .com

    Here is a good comparison between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/.

    Have a read through that and you’ll get a better idea of what will work for you.

    Basically, if your website is hosted here at WordPress.com, you just need to worry about creating content – the technical side of things (like updating plugins etc) is looked after by WordPress.com whereas on a self-hosted WordPress.org website, you will be responsible for most of that stuff.

    Cancelling a plan does not require staff help, but you can do it yourself from the Purchases page, here:

    As a Premium Plan owner you can also get help, should you need it, via live chat at the following link:

    You don’t need to post in the forums for help if you own a paid plan.

    That said, I’m happy to help you cancel your plan. However, your plan includes a domain registration for the domain, sonic-prod.com

    Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future. Only cancel a domain if you’re completely sure you no longer want it at all.

    If you want to use the domain with your self-hosted site instead, we can help you point it to your hosting provider and once you’ve owned it for 60 days you can transfer it to them completely if you prefer.

    Please confirm if I should proceed with a refund and if I should cancel both the plan and domain, or just the plan. If you cancel just the plan the cost of the domain will not be refunded.

    Yes you can cancel both plan, i just began the site i didn’t communicate about it so another domain name is okay for me.

    I see you did not cancel the domain, so I went ahead and cancelled and refunded that as well. You should receive the full refund in about 10 business days, depending on your bank’s processing times.
