Cancelling Private Registration Upgrde

  I plan on deleting this site but I need to cancel my private registration upgrade first. It says my personal details like name and address will be public. Does this mean my house address? Please respond. Thanks.

  I suggest not to cancel the private registration. If you decided that you don’t need the domain name, just let it expire so that the domain will no longer be yours. When you domain expires, all your personal details will be disassociated with the domain.

  If you cancel private registration while still holding the domain, there is a good chance that your personal details will be exposed on the internet. It might not include your house address but even email address exposure can be fatal to your privacy.

  You would have anyway paid the price for domain for an year since you bought it. So don’t renew it on the anniversary so it expires, and will no longer be yours. When that happens, your personal details will not be associated to that domain.

  Ok thanks. I am pretty sure that releasing my house address is illegal anyways.
