Cancelling to make use of a different host service

    Hi there,

    I am looking for some clarity on the situation I find myself in.

    My domain is registered through Hover and I have a hosting plan through wordpress.com.
    I’m actually more interested in the flexibility and customization that wordpress.org offers and want to change hosts to hostgator.

    My question: If I cancel my wordpress.com plan (it’s still within the refund period) and open a hostgator account with my domain name (from Hover), how smoothly can this be achieved? Will this cause any conflicts?

    Hi there,
    Regarding cancellation and refund

    For new domain registrations, you must cancel within 48 hours of purchase to receive a refund. There are no refunds, pro-rated or otherwise, after 48 hours.

    For plans and all other purchases, you must cancel within 30 days of a purchase to receive a refund.

    You will be refunded to the same payment method you used for your purchase. After processing, refunds usually take about five to ten business days to appear on your statement.
