Cancelling WordPress.com Account

  When we first got the idea to put up a blog we discovered WordPress. We didn’t know what we needed. We made an account in WordPress.com. After some research it was decided we wanted to use WordPress.org, which is what we are using now. Can we delete our .com account? Would cancelling the .com account affect the our .org account? Thanks.

  Deleting your WordPress.com site will not affect your self-hosted WordPress.org site. However to confirm this to you from an authentic source, I looked up the forum for similar concerns like yours and here is what a staff member advised a fellow member with a similar concern as yours.
