CanI just carry on using word press as I always have without changing or doing anything?

  The Classic Editing Experience is Moving, Not Leaving

  If after the change you wish to use the Editor in the MySite dashboard, you can use the Classic Block, which emulates the previous Classic Editor, as described here: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/classic-block/

  Otherwise if you prefer not to use the Classic Block there, the original WP Classic Editor https://wordpress.com/support/editors/#classic-editor is available via the WP Admin dashboard of your site at yoursite.wordpress.com./wp-admin/post-new.php
