Cannot access blog weeks after signing up

  I registered for an account in order to get an API to use with Akismet. Weeks after signing up I still cannot access my blog or any of the account pages. I am able to login OK but when I click on the My Account link my browser either tries to download the page (Firefox) or throws an error saying that it “cannot download / from chrisboom.wordpress.com” (IE). My blog is getting hammered by spam — I need Akismet!!! Help!!!
