Cannot access design library and format is now weird

    I have been trying to make a new page on my website by using one of the templates. Every time I try, I receive an error that I cannot access the database. I have contacted Hello You Designs to ask their input but have not heard back. Please advise. I need to create this new page for business.

    Also, I have noticed that the About page is formatted wrong. I haven’t changed anything on that page so I am not sure why it looks weird now.

    Thanks for writing to us. Taking a closer look at writerinthetub.com I can see that it’s set up on a stand alone WordPress installation. That’s different from using our managed hosting environment here at WordPress.com.

    Your domain is registered through, and hosted by, Siteground. It has no connection to the managed hosting services at WordPress.com.

    Because of that, we don’t have any access to provide help or troubleshooting. The best I can do is refer you to some known resources.

    – try contacting SiteGround and see if they offer any WordPress support. Some hosting providers do offer limited help, but not likely with design and/or theme issues.

    – try using the volunteer community via https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

    I reached out to Siteground and they said “You’ve reached WordPress.com, which is a different provider and a different platform. I have tried checking out the error log to see whether there would be anything useful to us in this situation, but there aren’t related errors to the problem you’re having.I’ve looked up the error itself, this one does not appear to be directly related to the connection of the site to your database, but rather to a specific functionality in WordPress.”

    Both WordPress and Siteground are saying they cannot help. I am not sure what to do at this point. I need to update my website and I am not able to. Please advise.

    Hello there,

    As the site is not hosted with WordPress.com – we ultimately can not help with this site.

    We can help you narrow down the issue with some basic troubleshooting, but Siteground may need to step in.

    I’d check to see if this behaviour happens with a different theme. If not, you would categorically would need to reach out to the theme providers for assistance as to why this would be.

    It sounds like the site is active and a theme or plugin is causing this.
