  Cannot access homepage by typing in site URL, redirects to https://home.blog/

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  Of what site are you speaking? I assume it’s not https://medievalhonors.wordpress.com/, as that site has not been updated since 2013, and works fine.

  Newly created: ewucareerprep.wordpress.com

  All the other pages, except for the home/front page have working direct links. Only the home page is auto-redirecting.

  I’m not sure I understand…

  The Start page in the menu is the front page of the blog and loads as https://ewucareerprep.wordpress.com/.

  Please explain how it should be functioning.

  Everytime I put the proper URL in the browser, it auto-redirects to the other page I noted, home something. It is doing this in firefox, but not chrome. 

  I want it to go to https://ewucareerprep.wordpress.com/
  no matter what browser is used.

  I’m not having any trouble visiting https://ewucareerprep.wordpress.com/ as https://ewucareerprep.wordpress.com/ under Firefox 68.0.2, no redirect.

  First, please make sure that Firefox is up to date: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/update-firefox-latest-release

  If it is, please do these two things:

  1. Try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/clear-cookies-and-site-data-firefox

  2. Try with all browser add-ons temporarily disabled: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/disable-or-remove-add-ons

  Please let us know how each step goes for you, which version of Firefox you’re using if you’re still having trouble.

  Did you ever change ewucareerprep.wordpress.com from the address ewucareerprep.home.blog as I’ve seen deleted something.home.blog addresses divert to https://home.blog/

  Yes!! I accidentally clicked the home.bog extension, then changed it to the normal wordpress.com

  Any way to get out of this loop? Firefox and Chrome both up to date.

  Perhaps the error will go away if you change your home page to a functioning page rather than a deleted one. Your START pages says:

  This is somewhat embarrassing, isn’t it?
  It seems we can’t find what you’re looking for. Perhaps searching, or one of the links below, can help.

  but the URL is definitely https://ewucareerprep.wordpress.com/

  @medievalhonors I see the correct site. Your home page isn’t published (just in draft mode) so only you and staff can see it, hence the error @themagicrobot mentioned. You’ll want to publish that or set a different front page for now.

  If your browsers are redirecting to home.blog still, please try quitting the browsers completely, then re-opening to see if that’ll clear the old address out.
