Cannot access my blog pages.
-
I have two blogs and two different domain names with you. I have not accessed my blogs for several months. In the meantime we moved cross country. Now when I attempt to login , my user names and passwords do not work. When we moved, I upgraded by phone and changed to a local area code; thus the Authenticator is no longer associated with the phone number. How do I get back to my blogs?
-
Hi!
Try using the lost password screen to reset your WordPress.com account password. https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
When you have reset the password, you will be able to login into your WordPress.com account again.
Let us know how it goes. We’re right here if you have questions.

I resent the Password. But I can’t get the code from the authenticator. I do not have any backup codes recorded. So I still can’t edit by blog sites.
-
My bad! I just realized you have 2 step verification enabled for your WordPress.com account.
Since you have moved countries too, it’s likely that you do not have access to your mobile number either.
Here is what I am doing.
I am tagging the post with “modlook” for the WordPress.com staff’s attention. They should suggest further.

Thank you. Actually we didn’t move out of the country–just from California to Illinois. (sort of another world).

Hi lyricfan940,
There are no sites listed in the account you are currently logged in to. Can you send a link to the two sites you are unable to access?
Thanks!
-
The two sites I have are:
http://www.dottyanderson.com
http://www.aldarandthegolem.comThey are blogs about my children’s books.
I have both domain names registered with you. -
Thanks for the links. It looks like you created each of those sites using a different WordPress.com account:
- dottyanderson.com is owned by dottyandereson
- aldarandthegolem.com is owned by aldarauthor
aldarauthor is a user of both sites, although it doesn’t own dottyanderson.com.
If you log out of your lyricfan940 account and login to the accounts I listed above, you should be able to manage each site.
Do you still have the login details for these accounts?
Come back to me if you have any problems.

I was able to log into dottyanderson.com through using the user name “aldarauthor,” for which I have the password. I was not able to log into dottyanderson.com. I noticed that for some reason my name as owner is listed as dottyandereson (a misspelling-probably my error). I do not have an operating password for that account. The authenticator will not work because I changed my phone number when we moved. Although I can now edit both my blog pages, I am wondering if there is anyway to straighten this whole thing out? Both accounts should be owned by me: Dotty Anderson with the proper spelling. Most importantly, I would like to be able to log into the blog for http://www.dottyanderson.com without having to access it through aldarauthor, a blog set up particularly for only one book, which I might not continue.
Thank you for your help.

I was able to log into dottyanderson.com through using the user name “aldarauthor,” for which I have the password.
That’s correct — aldarauthor has a user account on dottyanderson.com but does not own the site.
I was not able to log into dottyanderson.com.
If you haven’t done so already, please try resetting your password for dottyanderson.com with the username dottyandereson:
https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
Are you able to login after resetting your password for that account?
I am wondering if there is anyway to straighten this whole thing out?
Once you are able to login to dottyanderson.com, I’ll help you make sure each site is connected to the right account with the right spelling :)

I reset the password for dottyanderson.com. After I entered the new password, I still could not get in because of the changed phone number for the authorization code. It then asked me for other code numbers which I don't think I ever had. However, I can access the dottyanderson blog through the aldarauthor login. Will that help you in getting everything straightened out?
Thank you again. -
After I entered the new password, I still could not get in because of the changed phone number for the authorization code.
There is an extra step we’ll need to work through if you no longer have access to the phone number or your backup codes. I’ve sent an email to address we have on file for your dottyandereson account.
For security reasons, I can’t share which email address this is so please check all of your email accounts including the spam folder. I’ll follow up with you there about the next steps.
Thanks.

It looks like another member of staff has helped you access your dottyandereson account. Just let me know when you are successfully logged in and we can look at getting your accounts as you want them.
Be sure to print a copy of the backup codes in case you need them in order to access your account in the future :)

Hi Gemma, The other staff member has helped me log into DottyAnderson.com. It was given a code and was able to disable the secondary security.
So if you can help getting my name corrected, it would be great.
Thank you again,
Dotty -
Hi Dotty,
So if you can help getting my name corrected, it would be great.
Sure! Your username can be changed to the correct spelling by following these steps:
Also, do you only wish to manage dottyanderson.com through that account, not aldarauthor?
-
Thanks, I now have the correct spelling for by log-in.
It would be nice to manage both accounts under dottyanderson.com. Dotty -
Hi Dotty,
Great to hear! At the moment, you have two other separate accounts:
- aldarauthor
- dottyanderson
Which site would you like to manage through each account?
-
Hi Gemma, ” Dottyanderson” is the main account because it tells about all my books. “Aldarauthor” just tells about one of my stories; thus “dottyanderson” should be the main account.
Thanks. -
Hi Dotty,
thus “dottyanderson” should be the main account
It sounds like you want to be able to edit dottyanderson.com and aldarandthegolem.com through your dottyanderson account, is that correct?
