Cannot access my page when I changed my domain

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello, there!
I was using onessalon.wordpress.com before I changed to onessalon.com. After changing it, I can no longer access my page unless I log in through wordpress.com

I am on a premium account and I believe having my own domain is okay. I followed the instructions given in getting a domain but I have an error that says DNS configuration required.

I tried to fix it, but it was asking for an IP address which I can get to my host? Which I think that is wordpress? I dont have any third party host

    Please help me.

    Thank you!

Hello, when I access onessalon.wordpress.com I’m redirected to onessalon.com which appears to be hosted on GoDaddy. You should be able to access that site via GoDaddy or at onessalon.com/wp-admin/ or if you have installed the jetpack plugin Manage module on your site, through WordPressdotcom too.

Being both hosted and having your domain registered with GoDaddy, you do not need to maintain a WordPressdotcom Premium upgrade. You would only need the Redirect upgrade for a year. I’ve tagged this for Staff to assist with that and to have a look behind the scenes at your domain configuration.

Staff: there is also some strangeness with this thread. There is an additional thread tagged “duplicate” with 3 replies, but I cannot seem to access it. Thanks.

  • Hi there,

To properly map your domain onessalon.com to your WordPress.com site you need to update the name servers (DNS) on your domain’s provider end.

    WordPress.com’s name servers are:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

However, if your registrar requires that you create A records (static IP addresses) here are the ones we currently use:

    192.0.78.25
    192.0.78.24

Since your domain is registered through GoDaddy here are the specific instructions on how to make the changes:

    https://www.godaddy.com/help/set-custom-nameservers-for-domains-registered-with-godaddy-12317

Let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you. I’m happy to help.
