cannot access my website

On the WordPress dashboard, I downloaded the recommended update to 6.1.1, but now when I try to access my website, I get a blank page with the message ‘A critical error has occurred…’ I’m still waiting for a response from my ISP, but I thought I’d contact WordPress Support, as the site’s platform is WordPress. Thanks.
