Cannot access word press from link in email

    I bought a domain from Go Daddy and followed the steps to start a word press website from the wordpress walk through video. I now have a hosting account with host gator and followed the steps for quick install but cannot access the wp-admin screen.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    This is for wordpress.com and where I started the process from. I’ve never even heard of wordpress.org

    Can you refer me to the guide that you followed?

    Note that for websites on WordPress.com, you need not have a HostGator hosting package. If you bought a HostGator hosting meant for WordPress, it probably means that you are using a guide for self-hosted WordPress (WordPress.org) site setup.

    WordPress.com sites require a WordPress.com package from this list https://wordpress.com/pricing/ That’s all WordPress.com sites need for running.

    That is a guide to create self-hosted WordPress (WordPress.org) sites. Not a WordPress.com site.

    The differences between a WordPress.com sites and self-hosted WordPress (WordPress.org) sites are here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    If you are new to blogging, websites, it’s encouraged that you sign up on WordPress.com (https://wordpress.com/start) as it’s the easiest.

    But, since you have already bought a hosting package with HostGator, it’s suggested that you continue through the self-hosted WordPress (WordPress.org) site setup process as mentioned on that guide.

    For support though, please use self-hosted WordPress (WordPress.org) community forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/

    I see, that makes sense now. I was, in the meantime, able to figure out the issue. Turns out I did not change the serves to hostgator, pretty simple solutions. Thanks for your replies.
