Cannot add custom theme

    I am trying to add a new theme to Littlerascalstheatre.com
    I’m all logged in and following this video in trying to install a new theme:

    Problem is, there is no “add” button on the theme page.

    So, I tried starting from scratch, installing wordpress and creating a new account. I’ve downloaded MAMP and created a directory for wordpress on my localhost, and now I have wordpress up and running on my localhost and I’m able to install the new theme. I did so, and now I am editing this site, but I need to know how to map this new site to the domain (littlerascalstheatre.com). Is it even possible to map it to a domain that’s already being mapped by another wordpress site? This leads me to think that I should have just found a fix for my original problem of not being able to add a new theme to the existing site.

    Any help is much appreciated. I’m at a complete standstill.

    Hi There,

    littlerascalstheatre.com is a blog/website hosted on WordPress.com, you can’t upload/add themes here … however they have 384 themes to choose from – https://theme.wordpress.com/ … is there not one that you like amongst all of those ?

    If you MUST HAVE that particular theme, and that particular domain, then you would need to BUY a hosting package from a webhost with WordPress installed on it and point the domain littlerascalstheatre.com to your web host’s site. You could also do this on a cloud computer with Amazon AWS or Digital Ocean, for instance, if you wanted to install WordPress yourself.

    I would advise against installing a website/blog on “localhost” and then pointing a domain to it. It’s possible to do, but the machine “localhost” would have to run 24/7 and you’d have to have a VERY reliable internet connection, otherwise site would go down often. This is why most people use a web host to host their website. Or get a free blog at WordPress.com …
