Cannot add image URL 'file could not be uploaded because the file type is not supported'

  I cannot add image url and this message has been popping up’ file could not be uploaded because the file type is not supported’. I tried different website url and still doesnt work. I have been doing this last year but this year after the wordpress updates it hasnt been working. Please help. I am already behind with my blogging.

  I have the same problem! My blog is base on lots of photos, so I am
  really very disappointed now……..

  Any update? Having the same problem. Two images went up, fine. None of my other jpg files regardless of the filename or size will load. “file could not be uploaded because the file type is not supported.”
