Cannot add new user

I have tried to add a new user, but it doesn’t work. I enter the username, name, email and then the password field is already filled with dots, and underneath it says ‘Strong’. There are buttons for ‘Generate password’ and ‘Hide’ both of which appear to do nothing. There is no second field for password confirmation. Then when I click ‘Add new user’ I get the error message: ‘Error: passwords don’t match. Please enter the same password in both password fields.’ In case it helps I am using WordPress 5.8 | PHP 7.4.19 | Apache | MySQL 10.3.30-MariaDB-cll-lve.

Hi there!
Are you using any app that stores your passwords? I’m thinking it might be populating the password field with some of your existing passwords and creating an issue.
