Cannot add or edit post since activating Twitter Publicize option

I activated the Twitter Publicize feature for my blog today. Activation went smoothly.

I tested the feature on a few recent posts. The Publicize function worked great, but now I am unable to Create a New Post or Edit an Existing Post. When I attempt to do either the page loads all the way up to the point where the “Publicize:” field in the Publish widget in the upper right corner of the post page and stops!

In Firefox there is a little yellow box where the Publicize options would be, but it is empty and nothing can be done with the post. In Internet Explorer the exact same thing happens, but there is the following text in the place where the little yellow box would be (but no box): “<a href=”.

I also get the same error when I go to the My Blogs section of the admin. It loads the page fine until it gets to the Publicize column where it stops just past Yahoo Updates and Twitter.

When I go to my other blog – where I did not activate Twitter Publicize – I can Add New Posts and Edit Old Post with no problem.

Also, I can Add New PAGES and Edit Old PAGES, but not the posts. The Pages do not have a Publicize feature on them in the same way that the Posts do.

I attempted to deactivate Twitter from the My Blogs page, but cannot because the page does not load properly. I also revoked WordPress privileges in my Twitter account, but that did nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have recently become hopelessly addicted to WordPress and I don’t want to go through the expected withdrawals ! ;)

BTW I love the new Publicize features!!! Super Cool. I would like them better if they didn’t break my blog! ;)

Yesterday I had the same trouble but only in the post and edit panels, so I could disable the Publicize feature and was able to post and edit again. The “funny” thing is, I did activate back the Twitter Publicize and now it is working great again. It seems the new widget has a bug indeed. Apparently your problem is greater than mine though.

Anyone else is having this problem?
    ; )

Well, the websites of the first and second posters aren’t WP.com blogs. Without a link to the WP.com blogs instead of some offsite website, we can’t even speculate on what’s going on with them.

@dicasinterssantes Have you followed all the steps here? http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/

Have you attempted to disable and then re-enable it?

There is also a widespread problem with posting today.

In another thread on this issue, that I have not looked for, staff says it is fixed, but said to go to my blogs, disable it, then reenable it and go back through the set up process.

See the response from staff in the thread I referenced and try that solution.

It helps the volunteers here in the forums tremendously if you include your blog URL with your post, especially when you have your username tied to a non-wordpress.COM site. At times fully a third of the people asking questions here in the forums are in the wrong forums and our answers aren’t appropriate for them in the majority of cases. It also means you will get quicker answers to your questions.

    Thanks in advance.

I personally do not have faced this problem, but some users in Brazil are struggling, and I’m trying to help them in the Forum in Portuguese, that’s why i came to ask for help here.

I’ve read the topics listed above and am waiting for new information, even to know if the errors will persists, and whether they were related to server problems.

Many thanks to Raincoster and other Forum participants.

Apparently, there were no new reports of Brazilian WordPress.com users of anomalies in the publication of posts and related actions, and all issues were properly resolved.

Thanks for your precious help. ; )
