Cannot add subcategories in my menu

Can someone help please!
I had a menu and was able to put in subcategories and sub-subcategories. but somehow the menu got deleted. I created a new menu but I couldn’t create subcategories or sub-subcategories again. At first it would let me move the categories into subcategories (wouldn’t let me go as far as sub-subcategories) but once I save it, it reverts back to menus.
I also tried creating categories and then inserting the product categories underneath but it didn’t work. In my desperation, I deleted my site and installed the theme and woocommerce all over again but the problem still persists.
Please how can I fix this?

Clearly you are not talking about a WordPress.com site, since we can’t use woocommerce here. You need to be in the wordpress.ORG forums.
